EEF Circular No.-30 Date: 10/11/2009 AD

Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer All Scheduled Banks and All Financial Institutions

Dear Sir,

Equity and Entrepreneurship Fund (EEF).

Applications have recently been invited from interested entrepreneurs for EEF assistance in the agriculture-based and food processing sectors. Applications received within the stipulated time are verified and selected by the Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB), and eligible entrepreneurs are advised to have their project proposals evaluated by a scheduled bank or financial institution through which they submit the project evaluation report to the ICB.

It has recently been observed that some banks/financial institutions are showing reluctance to submit the project evaluation report to the ICB along with appropriate recommendations. As a result, undesired problems are arising in the use of the Equity and Entrepreneurship Fund.

In view of the above, banks/financial institutions are requested to cooperate in submitting the project evaluation report to the ICB along with appropriate recommendations after evaluating the project proposals of entrepreneurs declared eligible by the ICB.

Yours faithfully,

(Md. Sirajul Islam) Deputy General Manager Phone: 7163650
