Enhancement of upper limit of LC value issued without using SWIFT to USD 10,000 from USD 7,500 for import of coal through land port
The upper limit for the value of a Letter of Credit (LC) issued without using SWIFT for the import of coal through a land port is enhanced from USD 7,500 to USD 10,000. This change relaxes the previous limit established in FE Circular No. 11/2012 and applies to all Authorized Dealers of Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh. The instruction is effective immediately and must be communicated to all constituents.

Dear Sirs, Enhancement of upper limit of LC value issued without using SWIFT to USD 10,000 from USD 7,500 for import of coal through land port
Please refer to paragraph 21(i)(f), chapter 7 of the Guideline s for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2009, Vol. 1 and FE Circular No. 11/2012.
- It has been decided to relax the upper limit of FE Circular No. 11/2012 and enhance the upper lim it of LC up to USD 10,000 from USD 7,500 for im port of coal through land without using SWIFT.
Please inform the above instruction, effective immediately, to all your constituents.
