Enhancement of upper limit of LC value issued without using SWIFT to USD 6,000/- for import of coal through land port

The upper limit for the value of letters of credit issued without using SWIFT for the import of coal through land ports is increased from USD 5,000 to USD 6,000. This change relaxes the instructions previously set out in paragraph 21(i)(f) of chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions. The revised limit applies immediately to all Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh.

It has been decided to relax the instructions of the guidelines mentioned above and so upper limit of LC value issued without using SWIFT for import of coal through land port has been enhanced to USD 6,000/- from USD 5,000/-. 03. The above instruction will come into immediate effect. Please acknowledge receipt and bring the matter to the notice of all concerned.
