The Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) publishes a sector determination issued on October 8, 2020, pursuant to Executive Order 13902. The determination specifies that sanctions under section 1(a)(i) of the Executive Order apply to the financial sector of the Iranian economy. This action blocks property and interests in property of persons operating in this sector to further deny funding to Iran's nuclear program and malign regional influence.
