FEOD Circular Letter No. 01: Regarding Online Reporting of Foreign Exchange Transactions

Approved Dealer Banks are required to report foreign exchange transactions conducted via international cards through the Foreign Exchange Management System (FEMS) using a newly added report form. This reporting obligation applies to transactions of types C, D, E, and F and becomes effective on 01 August 2023.

To All Approved Dealer Banks engaged in Foreign Exchange Transactions Head Office / Principal Office

Dear Sir,

Regarding Online Reporting of Foreign Exchange Transactions.

  1. In accordance with Section 1, Clause 19, Paragraph 20(a) of the Foreign Exchange Rules, 2018, and Circular Letter No. FEPI(Export)220/2012-26 dated 09/12/2012, Approved Dealer Banks have been reporting foreign exchange transactions conducted via international cards through the Foreign Exchange Management System (FEMS).

  2. It has now been decided that a new report form titled 'Foreign Exchange' will be added to the Foreign Exchange Management System (FEMS) of Bangladesh Bank. In this regard, Approved Dealer Banks are advised to appropriately report transactions of types C, D, E, and F under the aforementioned form of FEMS, effective from 01 August 2023.
