FEPD Circular Letter No. 09: Clarification Regarding Export Incentive against export of Diversified Jute Products

This circular clarifies that for the purpose of export incentives on diversified jute products, jute-based products are considered raw materials alongside jute, in accordance with the Jute Act, 2017. This interpretation applies to the 'G' section of the Joint Application Form (Appendix-A) referenced in FEPD Circular No. 12 dated April 07, 2016. FEPD Circular Letter No. 09 Date: ------------------

Managing Directors / Chief Executive Officers All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh

Dear Sir,

Regarding the provision of export incentives against the export of Diversified Jute Products (DJP).

We would like to draw your attention to FEPD Circular No. 12, dated April 07, 2016, issued on the subject mentioned above.

  1. Reference is made to the 'G' section of the Joint Application Form (Appendix-A) attached to FEPD Circular No. 12 dated April 07, 2016, which mentions the supply chain of jute used in the production of exported goods and other information. On the other hand, in the said section, the materials used for export are mentioned as raw materials. Now, in accordance with the government's decision, it is clarified here that, in accordance with the Jute Act, 2017, for the provision of incentives against the export of diversified jute products (DJP), jute-based products will also be considered as raw materials alongside jute in the production of diversified/multi-purpose jute products. In this context, according to the aforementioned clarification, jute-based products will also be considered as raw materials alongside jute in the 'G' section of the Joint Application Form (Appendix-A) mentioned above.

All applicable instructions regarding the payment of incentives against the export of jute-based products will remain unchanged as before.

All concerned parties are advised to take note of this matter.

Yours faithfully,

(Md. Sarowar Hossain) Director (FEPD) Phone: 9530123 Ashar 17, 1431 July 02, 2024
