FEPD Circular Letter No. 10: Direction regarding opening of Non-Resident Foreign Currency Deposit Account

Dear Sir,

Direction regarding opening of Non-Resident Foreign Currency Deposit Account.

In accordance with Section-OO, Clause 15 of Chapter 13 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions, 2009 (Volume-1), instructions have been issued for customers of Non-Resident Foreign Currency Deposit Accounts to apply to AD Banks for account opening through the Form (completed in accordance with Form 5/69) and to submit one set of specimen signatures of the customer verified by a Bangladesh Mission abroad or any bank or individual known to the AD Bank along with the form.

It has been decided that henceforth there is no need to complete Form 5/69. However, the existing practice of obtaining one set of specimen signatures of the customer verified by a Bangladesh Mission abroad or any bank or individual known to the AD Bank shall continue, and the aforementioned account opening shall be done through the existing account opening application form.
