The circular mandates that cash incentives or export subsidies for the export-oriented domestic textile sector and other applicable sectors must be audited by an audit firm approved by Bangladesh Bank and appointed by the relevant bank. If additional firms are required to expedite the audit process, banks must submit a reasoned application to Bangladesh Bank specifying the justification and the necessary number of audit firms.
Foreign Exchange Policy Department Bangladesh Bank Head Office Dhaka. Ref. No. FEPD(Circular)291/2014-1367 Asharha 23, 1421 Circular Letter No.- FEPD(Export Policy)291/2014-14 Date: ----------------- July 07, 2014 To: The Chief Executive Officers / Principal Offices of All Approved Dealer Banks Dear Sirs,
Re: Appointment of Audit Firm for Cash Assistance/Export Subsidy instead of Customs Bond and Duty Drawback in Export-Oriented Domestic Textile Sector and Other Applicable Sectors.
We draw your attention to Circular Letter No.- FEPD(Com)291/2002-1367 dated June 02, 2002 and Circular Letter No.- FEPD(Export Policy)291/2014-13 dated June 29, 2014 issued on the subject cited above.
Just as in previous years, cases of cash assistance/export subsidy for the current fiscal year 2014-2015 will also be audited by an audit firm approved by Bangladesh Bank and appointed by the concerned bank. However, if it is necessary to appoint additional firms to expedite the audit work, an application must be made to Bangladesh Bank stating the rationale and the required number of audit firms.
Yours faithfully, (Md. Zakir Hossain Chowdhury) Deputy General Manager Phone: 9530250
