Dear Sir,

Regarding the mandatory submission of challan copies of government revenue fees collected for the export of Jute and Jute goods to the Jute Directorate.

Reference is drawn to your attention the Memorandum No. 24.01.0000.006.85.002.19-28 (Copy Attached) dated April 07, 2021, issued by the Jute Directorate, Ministry of Textiles and Jute, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, on the subject cited above.

It is stated in the aforementioned letter that the Bangladesh Bank has issued instructions to regularly and mandatorily send copies of challans deposited under the code 1-4135-0001-2015 for Jute and Jute goods inspection fees, which are collected under the government revenue collection code "65 Tax other than various receipts" to the Jute Directorate. However, it is stated that these instructions are not being followed properly and that government revenue challans are not reaching the Jute Directorate in due time.

In view of the above context, instructions are hereby given to send the monthly deposits or amounts deposited for Jute and Jute goods inspection fees to the Jute Directorate through the Head Office of the bank by the 7th day of the following month. At the same time, with reference to the Memorandum No. 24.01.0000.006.85.002.19-29 (Copy Attached) dated April 07, 2021, of the Jute Directorate, advice is given to supply a consolidated letter containing copies of challans against the amounts deposited in the said head in the government treasury for the period from the fiscal year 2014-15 to 2019-20 to the Jute Directorate on a quarterly basis.

Yours faithfully,
