FEPD Circular Letter No. 15: Delivery of the NRB remittances to their beneficiaries

The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank extends the maximum time limit for authorized dealer banks to distribute remittances received under the drawing arrangement with foreign exchange houses from 72 hours to two working days. This directive applies to all authorized dealer banks engaged in foreign exchange transactions and requires immediate compliance to facilitate the flow of remittances.

Dear Sir,

Subject: Distribution of Remittances to their Beneficiaries.

Reference is invited to Clause 3(c) of Circular Letter No. FEPD(LD-1)147/2007-1468 dated October 29, 2007, issued by this Department regarding "Policy on Establishing Drawing Arrangements between Banks in Bangladesh and Exchange Houses Abroad."

In order to facilitate the flow of remittances, the time limit for distribution of remittances received by authorized beneficiaries under the drawing arrangement is hereby revised from 72 hours to a maximum of 02 (two) working days.

You are requested to inform all concerned to comply with the above instructions immediately.
