Foreign Exchange Policy Department Bangladesh Bank Head Office Dhaka www.bb.org.bd FE Circular Letter No. 18 Date: April 26, 2020 Head offices/principal offices of all Authorized Dealers in Bangladesh Dear Sirs, Import of agricultural implements and chemical fertilizers- extension of usance period Bangladesh Bank has addressed to minimize COVID-19 pandemic related disruptions to input imports by industrial importers. Accordingly, Authorized Dealers (ADs) have been permitted vide FE Circular No. 16 of March 23, 2020 to extend the usance periods upto a maximum of 360 days instead of 180 days, depending on the actual needs of their concerned clients. 2. Within the purview of the above mentioned circular, ADs may extend the usance periods upto a maximum of 360 days against imports of agricultural implements and chemical fertilizers from 180 days admissible under paragraph 33(a)(iv), chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018, Vol-1. Other instructions with regards to import trade shall remain unchanged. Please bring the contents of this circular letter, applicable till September 30, 2020, to the notice of your concerned clientele.
