Dear Sirs,
With reference to the requirement of obtaining a Preshipment Inspection Certificate from an internationally reputed surveyor stating that 'the quantity of Sulphur is not more than 3%' in the case of Coal importation.
Reference is drawn to Circular Letter No. FEPD(Import Policy)123/2013-03 dated 4 February, 2013.
Complaints have been received that in the case of Coal importation, the instructions specified in paragraph 32 of section 26, chapter 6 of the Import Policy Order, 2012-2015 are not being properly complied with at the time of establishing the Letter of Credit by the customer.
In this regard, you are advised to ensure proper compliance with the other instructions of the Import Policy Order, 2012-2015, including the requirement for the importer to obtain a Preshipment Inspection Certificate from an internationally reputed surveyor stating that 'the quantity of Sulphur is not more than 3%' when establishing the Letter of Credit for Coal importation.
