FEPD Circular Letter No. 23: Regarding Withdrawal Ban from Salt Import
The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank notifies authorized dealer banks of an instruction from the Ministry of Commerce to lift the ban on salt imports. This directive is issued under Section 26(58) of the Foreign Exchange Policy Order 2015-2018 and is communicated via a letter from the Ministry's Trade Policy Branch dated August 24, 2016. Banks are required to inform relevant parties and take necessary action to implement this withdrawal of the import ban.

Regarding the withdrawal of the ban on Salt Import.
With reference to the gazette notification issued to open up Salt Import under Section 26(58) of the Foreign Exchange Policy Order 2015-2018.
In this regard, the instruction issued through letter No. 26.00.0000.111.55.001.16-626 dated 24.08.2016 from the Trade Policy Branch of the Ministry of Commerce is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.
