FEPD Circular Letter No. 26: Performing Hajj under Govt. Management-1434 Hijri year

The document establishes the cost breakdown and foreign exchange issuance guidelines for the 1434 Hijri (2013 CE) Hajj under government management, defining two packages with total costs of BDT 347,027 and BDT 278,742 respectively. Dear Sir, Performing Hajj under Government Management - 1434 Hijri Year.

  1. Attention is drawn to the "Hajj Package-2013 AD (1434 Hijri)" prepared by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding the performance of Hajj under government management for the 1434 Hijri year.

  2. In light of the aforementioned Hajj Package, the following instructions are issued for approved dealers to follow regarding the issuance of foreign currency and relevant activities in exchange for receipt of local currency from those wishing to perform Hajj under government management:

(a) The category-wise distribution of the total cost per pilgrim for two packages (Package-1 and Package-2) for those wishing to travel under government management is presented below:

Note: It is assumed that 1 USD = 80.50 Taka and 1 SAR = 21.00 Taka.

(b) Each Hajj pilgrim must separately carry the approximate amount of BDT 9,450.00 (Nine Thousand Four Hundred Fifty) equivalent to SAR 450.00 (Four Hundred Fifty) for Qurbani cost/Dam.

(c) In addition to the sub-total cost of Hajj, each Hajj pilgrim may carry foreign currency equivalent to USD 500 (Five Hundred).

(d) The last date for depositing money for Hajj pilgrims wishing to travel under Package-1 (Package Price BDT 3,47,027.00) and Package-2 (Package Price BDT 2,78,742.00) under government management is 30.05.2013.

  1. Confirmed return air tickets and endorsement of international passports based on TM form applications under the existing system will be issued foreign currency. No foreign currency will be issued more than 2 (two) weeks prior to the travel date mentioned on the air ticket.

  2. Approved dealers must ensure that the specified amount of foreign currency is handed over only to the concerned Hajj pilgrim by taking the signature/fingerprint corresponding to the international passport of the Hajj pilgrim on the TM form.
