The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank notifies authorized dealer banks of a public notice issued by the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports of the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. This notice suspends Clause 26(58) of the Import Policy Order 2012-2015, which prohibited salt imports, until September 22, 2013, and declares general salt (HS Heading 25.01) importable subject to conditions effective from that date.

Regarding the lifting of the prohibition on salt imports, prior to the suspension of Clause 26(58) of the Import Policy Order 2012-2015.
A copy of the Public Notice (No. 19(2012-2015)/Import) issued by the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, dated 05-09-2013, regarding the suspension of Clause 26(58) of the Import Policy Order 2012-2015 prohibiting salt imports until 22-09-2013, and the declaration of general salt (HS Heading No. 25.01) as importable subject to conditions from 22-09-2013, is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.
