Subject: Establishment of Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA).
It is hereby informed that the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority Act, 2016 was enacted on August 01, 2016, with the aim of merging the Investment Board and the Privatization Commission. According to the rules of the said Act, the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was formed on September 01, 2016, and the functions of the Investment Board and the Privatization Commission have been abolished. However, all ongoing functions of the abolished Investment Board and Privatization Commission will continue through the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority.
