Monetary Policy Department Subject: Permission to Transfer Hajj Pilgrims' Expenses to IBAN.

Dear Sir,

Reference is made to letter number 16.00.0000.003.02.006.24-1113 dated 07 April 2025 from the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment regarding the proposal to allow the transfer of Hajj pilgrims' expenses for the 1447 Hijri/2026 season to their IBANs.

In light of the aforementioned reference, it has been decided that all designated banks operating under the scheme for Hajj pilgrims for the 1447 Hijri/2026 season (both government and private sectors) may transfer the pilgrims' expenses to their respective IBANs as per the proposed arrangement.

All concerned banks are requested to take necessary action accordingly.

Subject: Request for permission to transfer Hajj pilgrims' expenses for the year 1447 Hijri/2026 AD to their IBANs.

Sir,

With due respect, it is stated that the Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment organizes Hajj pilgrimages every year through various agencies. In recent years, there have been complaints from pilgrims regarding delays in receiving their expenses. To address these issues and ensure timely disbursement, it is proposed to transfer the Hajj pilgrims' expenses directly to their International Bank Account Numbers (IBANs).

Accordingly, the Ministry requests your good office to issue necessary instructions to all concerned scheduled commercial banks to facilitate the transfer of Hajj pilgrims' expenses for the 1447 Hijri/2026 AD season to their respective IBANs. This will help in streamlining the process and ensuring that pilgrims receive their funds promptly.

It is further requested that suitable instructions be issued to the concerned banks to ensure smooth implementation of this measure.
