The Department of Foreign Exchange Policy extends the shipment deadline for crude salt imports under Letters of Credit issued until September 22, 2013, to November 22, 2013. This extension applies to LCs established for crude salt imports under Public Notice No. 19(2012-2015)/Import dated September 5, 2013. Authorized Dealer Banks are required to take necessary action based on the attached Public Notice No. 22(2012-2015)/Import dated October 28, 2013.

Regarding the extension of the shipment time limit by 30 days for salt against LCs established for the purpose of salt import.
In this regard, a copy of the Public Notice [No. 22(2012-2015)/Import] dated 28 October, 2013, extending the shipment time limit for salt against LCs issued until 22 September, 2013, to 22 November, 2013, under the purview of the Public Notice No. 19(2012-2015)/Import dated 5 September, 2013, issued by the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, concerning crude salt imports, is enclosed herewith for your information and necessary action.
