FEPD Circular Letter No. 44/2013-27: Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Release for Performing Hajj under Private Management - 1434 Hijri Year

Dear Sir, Performing Hajj under Private Management - 1434 Hijri Year.

In light of the "Hajj Package-2013 A.D. (1434 Hijri)" issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the following guidelines are provided for the release of foreign exchange for those intending to perform Hajj under private management.

  1. For performing Hajj under private management in the 1434 Hijri year, deposits must be made in the bank according to the following breakdown:

Note: The rate of Saudi Riyal 80.50 (Eighty Taka Fifty Paisa) and Saudi Riyal 21.00 (Twenty-One Taka) has been taken.

  1. In addition to the specific Hajj expenses, each Hajj pilgrim may carry foreign exchange equivalent to 500 (Five Hundred) Saudi Riyals.

  2. Each Hajj Agency must submit a complete list including the names, addresses, and passport numbers of the Hajj pilgrims who deposited money through said Hajj Agency, along with the Moawelin fee, airfare, and other fees, as well as the house rent and other benefits declared by the Hajj Agency in the Hajj package, and all possible expenses. The bank statement (deposit details) signed by the competent authority of the relevant bank and countersigned by the hub, confirming that the deposit has been made in the agency's own bank account, must be sent to the Hajj Office, Dhaka, and a copy to the Ministry of Religious Affairs by May 30, 2013 A.D. (Not below the government-declared minimum package price of 278,742.00 BDT (Two Lakh Seventy-Eight Thousand Seven Hundred Forty-Two Taka)).

  3. In the existing system, confirmed return air tickets and international passport endorsements based on the TM form application will be issued foreign exchange. No foreign exchange will be issued earlier than 2 (two) weeks before the travel date mentioned on the air ticket.

  4. Authorized dealers must ensure that the fixed amount of foreign exchange is handed over only to the relevant Hajj pilgrim by accepting the signature/initials on the TM form corresponding to the pilgrim's international passport.

You are requested to inform all concerned parties about the contents of this circular letter.
