Dear Sirs, Bangladesh Bank’s rules for easy opening and maintaining of Foreign Currency Accounts. Attention is drawn to the instructions mentioned in Chapter 13 of the ‘Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions, 2009 (Vol-1)’ regarding opening and maintaining of foreign currency accounts by eligible persons including non-resident Bangladeshi. It is seen that many persons show their interest to get inform Bangladesh Bank’s directions for opening and maintaining of foreign currency accounts. In this context a booklet has been published containing main sections of Bangladesh Bank’s directions for opening of foreign currency accounts, attestation of necessary documents, maintaining of foreign currency accounts, etc. which have been uploaded in the Bangladesh Bank website, both in Bangla and English with link to the home-page for information of all concerned. Some copies of the said booklet are being sent to you for information of all concerned including persons interested to open and maintain such accounts, officials of your authorized dealer branches, branches and exchange houses abroad. It will be highly appreciated if you reprint this booklet to distribute to your authorized dealer branches, branches and exchange houses abroad to help persons interested to open foreign currency accounts. Please inform this issue to all concerned. You are under our advice to inform initiatives undertaken by you in this regard by July 31, 2012.
