Performing Hajj under Government Management - 1433 Hijri Year

Reference is invited to the notification issued by the Ministry of Religious Affairs regarding the Hajj Policy formulated for performing Hajj under government management for the 1433 Hijri year.

  1. In light of the aforementioned Hajj Policy, the following guidelines are provided regarding the issuance of foreign currency and related activities for those intending to perform Hajj under government management, in exchange for depositing local currency:

(a) The total cost per person for performing Hajj under government management, excluding Qurbani, is fixed at BDT 3,03,440.00 (Three Lakh Three Thousand Four Hundred Only) as follows:

(Note: Rate of BDT 42.00 (Forty-Two) per Dollar and BDT 21.00 (Twenty-One) per Saudi Riyal has been taken)

(b) Each Hajj pilgrim must separately carry an approximate amount of BDT 4,410.00 (Nine Thousand Four Hundred Fifty) equivalent to Saudi Riyal 420.00 (Four Hundred Fifty) for food and Qurbani/Dam expenses.

(c) Apart from the overall cost of Hajj, Hajj pilgrims may carry foreign currency equivalent to a maximum of BDT 500.00 (Five Hundred Only) by depositing cash in the approved bank.

(d) The last deadline for depositing the money for Hajj 1433 Hijri year (Muallim fee, airfare and all other Hajj related funds) is July 1, 2012.

  1. Foreign currency will be issued based on the application of the existing TM Form, with confirmed return air tickets and international passport endorsements. No foreign currency will be issued more than 2 (two) weeks prior to the travel date mentioned in the air ticket.

  2. It is approved that the Hajj pilgrim receives the TM Form with a corresponding signature/initials on the international passport, and the determined amount of foreign currency is handed over only to the concerned Hajj pilgrim after verifying the approved documents.

You are requested to inform all concerned parties of the instructions contained in this circular letter.
