FEPD Circular Letter No.(Import policy)/123/2013-14 : Public Notice on Prohibition of betel-nut importation
The Government has temporarily prohibited the import of betel-nut, effective May 13, 2013, under the authority of sub-section (1) of section 3 of the Imports and Exports (Control) Act, 1950. This decision, communicated via a public notice from the Office of the Chief Controller of Imports and Exports, is forwarded by Bangladesh Bank to all Authorized Dealer Banks engaged in foreign exchange transactions. These banks are instructed to take necessary action based on this prohibition.
