FEPD Circular No. 05: Currency Note Import and Export

The Bangladesh Bank raises the threshold for declaring undeclared Bangladeshi currency notes upon entry and the amount permitted for export from 2,000 Taka to 5,000 Taka per person. This amendment modifies the Bangladesh Bank Notification No. FE-01/09-BB and the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transaction, 2009, while other directives from the August 4, 2009 notification remain unchanged. The changes are effective as of January 30, 2014, and apply to all approved dealer banks conducting foreign exchange transactions.
