Authorized Dealers of Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh are required to enhance the limit for International Credit Card online payments from USD 100 to USD 300 per transaction. This circular also authorizes the use of such cards for magazine and newspaper subscription fees, which were previously excluded. These changes amend FE Circular No. 09 dated May 30, 2013, while all other instructions within that circular remain unchanged.
Foreign Exchange Policy Department Bangladesh Bank Head Office Dhaka. www.bb.org.bd FE Circular No. 05 Date: February 25, 2016 All Authorized Dealers of Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh Dear Sirs, Use of International Credit Cards (ICCs) for online payment Please refer to FE Circular No. 09, dated May 30, 2013 in terms of which Authorized Dealers (ADs) may allow their cardholder customers to use ICCs for online payment not exceeding USD 100.00 (US Dollar one hundred) or its equivalent at a single transaction against legitimate purchases of items of goods and services (such as downloadable application software, e-books etc.) from reputed and reliable sources abroad. 02. It has now been decided to enhance the limit to USD 300 (US Dollar three hundred) per transaction, and also to include magazine/newspaper subscription fees as admissible for such purchase. 03.
