FEPD Circular No. 18: Cash incentive against export of frozen shrimps and other fishes

The Department of Foreign Exchange Policy and Development mandates that applicants for cash incentives on frozen shrimp and other fish exports must be members of the Bangladesh Frozen Food Exporters Association or the Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association. Exporters are required to submit a certificate in Form 'A' along with their application, and must hold a valid license from the Department of Fisheries. These instructions apply to shipments dispatched from the date of the circular, while other existing directives remain unchanged.

Dear Sir,

Regarding Cash Assistance for the Export of Frozen Shrimps and Other Fishes.

Reference is invited to FEPD Circular No. 23, dated December 12, 2002; FEPD Circular Letter No. FEPD(C)291 (Frozen Fish)/Policy/2003-591, dated May 18, 2003; FEPD Circular Letter No. FEPD(C)291 (Frozen Fish)/Policy/2003-661, dated June 03, 2003; FEPD Circular No. 19, dated October 25, 2011; and all circulars/circular letters issued in this regard.

  1. It is informed that, in accordance with government decisions, the institution applying for cash assistance for the export of frozen shrimps and other fishes must be a member of the Bangladesh Frozen Food Exporters Association or an institution that is a member of the Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association for the export of frozen shrimps and other fishes caught from deep sea and processed. In this regard, a certificate (in Form 'A') from the Bangladesh Frozen Food Exporters Association or the Bangladesh Marine Fisheries Association must be submitted along with the application for cash assistance for all cases of export of the aforementioned products. The concerned exporting institution must be a fish exporting institution licensed by the Department of Fisheries.

  2. The instructions mentioned above will be effective from the date of the circular for shipped goods.

All other instructions regarding the provision of cash assistance in the aforementioned sector contained in all FEPD Circulars/Circular Letters will remain unchanged. It is requested to inform all concerned parties about this matter.

The authenticity and reliability of the purchase order of the foreign buyer/importer have also been ensured.

The declared export value mentioned in serial number 8 is found reasonable and consistent with the prevailing international market price, and the authenticity and reliability of the foreign buyer have also been ensured. It is recommended to pay cash assistance on the repatriated export value (Net FOB Value).
