FEPD Circular No. 25: Export subsidy against export of Footwear made of Synthetic & Fabrics

The document prohibits the application of export incentives for the export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics when customs bond or duty drawback benefits are claimed on the materials used for export. This directive becomes effective for goods shipped from February 01, 2024. Other relevant instructions regarding export incentives for these items remain unchanged.

No. FEPD Circular No. 25 Date: ------------------- Managing Director / Chief Executive Officer All Scheduled Banks operating in Bangladesh Dear Sir, Regarding the provision of export incentive/cash assistance against the export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics.

Reference is drawn to your attention to Appendix-C (Serial No. 26) of FEPD Circular No. 07, dated February 04, 2020, and FEPD Circular No. 05, dated February 12, 2024, and FEPD Circular No. 12, dated June 30, 2024.

  1. It is announced that, in accordance with government decisions, export incentives will not be applicable in the case of export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics, where customs bond or duty drawback benefits are availed on the materials used for export.

  2. This directive will be effective for goods shipped from February 01, 2024.

  3. The applicable instructions in other relevant FEPD Circulars/Circular Letters regarding the provision of export incentive/cash assistance against the export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics will remain unchanged as before.
