FEPD Circular No. 30: Export Subsidy Against Export of Footwear and Bags Made of Synthetic and Fabrics

The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank amends the category name for export subsidies on footwear and bags from "footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics" to "footwear and bags made of a mixture of non-leather (excluding leather) raw materials, excluding jute footwear and bags." This directive applies to goods shipped from the date of issuance, while other applicable instructions regarding export incentives remain unchanged. The circular is addressed to all approved dealer banks for implementation and dissemination.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the provision of export incentives/cash assistance against the export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics.

Reference is drawn to your attention to FEPD Circular No. 04, dated February 08, 2018; FEPD Circular No. 07, dated February 04, 2020; and FEPD Circular No. 36, dated December 05, 2024, on the subject cited above.

  1. Export incentives/cash assistance have been provided for the export of footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics through FEPD Circular No. 04, dated February 08, 2018, and other subsequent FEPD circulars/circular letters issued on the same subject. The category name "footwear and bags made of a mixture of synthetic and fabrics" has been changed to "footwear and bags made of a mixture of non-leather (excluding leather) raw materials (excluding jute footwear and bags)".

  2. The aforementioned instructions shall be effective for goods shipped from the date of issuance of this circular. The applicable instructions of other relevant FEPD circulars/circular letters regarding the provision of export incentives/cash assistance against exports in the said sector shall remain unchanged as before.
