FEPD Circular No. 36: Cash Incentive Against Export of Frozen Shrimps and Other Fishes
The Foreign Exchange Policy Department of Bangladesh Bank amends the conditions for disbursing cash incentives against the export of frozen shrimps and other fishes. The amendment requires that while value repatriation must generally originate from the destination country, incentives may still be granted if specific criteria are met, including verification of the exporter or their connected business source (excluding exchange houses). Additionally, applicants must verify prior exports through an approved tracking system or customs certification and attach printed copies of this information to the incentive application. These directives apply to shipments dispatched from the date of issuance.

Dear Sir,
Regarding the provision of cash assistance in the sector of export of frozen shrimps and other fishes.
Reference is invited to FEPD Circular No. 19, dated October 25, 2011, on the subject cited above.
- The following amendment is made to sub-paragraph (c) of the aforementioned circular regarding the payment of cash assistance against advance export price for the export of frozen shrimps and other fishes:
"(c) Value repatriation must be received only from the country to which the goods are exported. However, cash assistance shall be provided even if the export value is repatriated from a different country, subject to the fulfillment of the following percentages:
(a) It must be ensured that the export value is received from the exporter who issued the export order or from a source that has a specific business relationship with the exporter who issued the export order (excluding exchange houses);
(b) Prior to processing the application for cash assistance, it must be ensured through an approved tracking system/certification by Customs (e-Port/e-Commerce system) regarding the prior export of the goods, and the said information (printed copy) must be attached with the application form;"
- The aforementioned directives shall be operative in the matter of providing cash assistance against shipped goods from the date of issuance of this circular. This circular shall not be applicable in deciding any pending matter or any matter where audit objections exist.
