FEPD Circular No. 42: Waiver of quarterly repayments against imports permissible under supplier's/buyer's credit

The exemption from quarterly installment repayments is extended to other permissible deferred payment imports referred to in paragraph 33(a) of chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET)-2018. This decision applies to all Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange in Bangladesh to facilitate the smooth settlement of import payments. Authorized Dealers are required to inform their concerned constituents of this extension.

Please refer to paragraphs 33(c) and 33(d), chapter 7 of the Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions (GFET)-2018, Vol-1 and subsequent circulars regarding the exemption of quarterly repayments against eligible deferred payment imports. 02. To facilitate smooth settlement of import payments, it has been decided that the exemption from quarterly installment repayments will apply for other permissible deferred payment imports as referred to paragraph 33(a), chapter 7 of GFET and its subsequent circulars.
