Bangladesh Bank directs all Authorized Dealers in Foreign Exchange to inform customers travelling to or from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia about local customs declaration requirements. Travelers must submit a declaration to Saudi Customs if they possess goods, cash, financial instruments, gold bullions, precious metals, stones, or jewellery valued at 60,000.00 Saudi Riyals or more. The circular specifies that existing foreign exchange entitlements for Bangladeshi nationals travelling to Saudi Arabia remain unchanged.

This is to inform you that the rules and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia require all arriving and departing travellers to submit a declaration to the Saudi Customs Authority if they have any goods in their possession such as Cash money, Financial instruments, Gold bullions, Precious metals, Stones or Jewellery valued equivalent to or more than 60,000.00 (Sixty Thousand) Saudi Riyals. 02. You are hereby directed to inform your customers travelling to/from Kingdom of Saudi Arabia regarding the above mentioned rules and regulations to avoid any penalty. However, entitlements of foreign exchange for travelling to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on various grounds by Bangladeshi nationals as enumerated in Guidelines for Foreign Exchange Transactions-2018, Volume1 and subsequent circulars/circular letters shall remain unchanged.
