IOEAMA UNSCR Ref SC15800 ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida 23 August 2024

The Securities Committee of The Bahamas informs licensees and registrants that the UN Security Council removed a specific entry from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List on 23 August 2024. Regulated entities are required to exclude the individual named in the associated UN press release from their internal lists of designated persons. Licensees and registrants must update their records accordingly and continue to consult official UNSC resources to maintain compliance with relevant resolutions.

To: All Registrants and Licensees Date: 28 August 2024 Re: International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA): ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Pursuant to section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA), licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) are hereby informed that on 23 August 2024, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities removed the entry specified in the United Nations press release attached hereto from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List after concluding its consideration of the de-listing requests for this name.
