IOEAMA UNSCR Ref SC16003 ISIL (Da'esh) and Al-Qaida 21 February 2025

The Securities Commission of The Bahamas informs licensees and registrants that the Security Council has removed a specific entry from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List on 21 February 2025. Licensees and registrants are required to exclude the individuals listed in the associated United Nations press release from their maintained lists of designated entities and individuals. Regulated entities must regularly consult the specified UNSC websites to ensure continued compliance and accurate record keeping regarding United Nations Security Council Resolutions.

To: All Registrants and Licensees Date: 25 February 2025 Re: International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA): ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Pursuant to section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA), licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) are hereby informed that on 21 February 2024, the Security Council Committee pursuant to resolutions 1267 (1999), 1989 (2011) and 2253 (2015) concerning ISIL (Da’esh), Al-Qaida and associated individuals, groups, undertakings and entities has removed the entry specified in the United Nations press release attached hereto from the ISIL (Da’esh) and Al-Qaida Sanctions List after concluding its consideration of the de-listing requests for this name.
