14 April 2026 Dear Licensee/Registrant: Re: International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, Chapter 16 (IOEAMA): Individuals Pursuant to section 3A of the International Obligations (Economic and Ancillary Measures) Act, (Ch. 16) (IOEAMA), licensees and registrants of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) are hereby informed that on 13 April 2026, the Security Council Committee established pursuant to Resolution 1988 (2011) enacted the amendments, specified with strikethrough and/or underline on its 1988 Sanctions List of individuals and entities subject to the measures imposed by the Security Council and adopted under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations. 1. https://press.un.org/en/2026/sc16336.doc.htm The Commission hereby directs all licensees and registrants to take all appropriate actions to ensure full compliance with section 3A IOEAMA, Part IV “Implementation of United Nations Security Resolutions”, sections 44 and 49 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 2018 (No. 27 of 2018) and regulation 8 of the Anti-Terrorism Regulations, 2019 (S.I. No. 9 of 2019). Licensees and registrants are further directed to carefully read and adhere to the Targeted Financial Sanctions Reporting Forms Guidance and where there is a positive match, complete the applicable Targeted Financial Sanctions Reporting Form and submit it to the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) and the Office of the Attorney General (OAG). Reporting of positive matches must be made within 24 hours of issuance of this notice. Confirmation of the submission to the FIU and OAG are also required to be sent to the Commission.
