The Supervisory Committee of the Bank of Latvia granted Nexdesk SIA a payment institution license on May 27, enabling the company to provide account-free money transfers. This authorization complements the crypto-asset service provider license issued to Nexdesk SIA in December of the previous year, allowing the firm to fully provide crypto-asset storage and transfer services. The payment institution license is required for crypto-asset service providers offering crypto-asset transfer services using e-money tokens, in addition to the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) requirements.

On May 27, the Supervisory Committee of the Bank of Latvia decided to issue a payment institution license to Nexdesk SIA.
The license allows the company to provide account-free money transfers.
In December last year, the Bank of Latvia issued a crypto-asset service provider license to the company Nexdesk SIA. The newly issued payment institution license now allows the company to fully provide crypto-asset storage and transfer services.
The Bank of Latvia issues operational permits to crypto-asset service providers in accordance with the requirements of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA). For those crypto-asset service providers that provide crypto-asset transfer services using e-money tokens, a payment institution license must also be obtained in certain cases in accordance with the requirements of the Payment Services and Electronic Money Act.
