This law adopts a new edition of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan On the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan, establishing the Central Bank's legal status as a state-owned legal entity independent from other government bodies. It defines the Central Bank's primary goals as ensuring stability in prices, the banking system, and payment systems, while prohibiting profit-seeking, commercial activity, and providing financial assistance to the government or third parties. The legislation grants the Central Bank authority to issue regulations binding on all entities, license banks and other financial organizations using reasoned judgment, and create subordinate organizations and territorial administrations.
