Limitations on the issuing of housing loans

The Bank of Israel amends Proper Conduct of Banking Business Directive no. 329 to exclude loans to eligible members of the defense establishment from the directive's housing loan limits, provided they meet specific fitness conditions. This revision to Section 13 takes effect upon the publication of Circular C-06-2518 on October 30, 2016.

  1. In view of the special conditions set out in the tender to provide loans for eligible members of the defense establishment, the need arose to revise the Directive regarding the applicability of the limitations.
  2. Following consultation with the Advisory Committee on Banking Business, and with the approval of the Governor, I have decided to revise the Directive as detailed below. The amendment to the Directive
  3. Applicability: In Section 13, a clarification was added stating that the limits set out in the Directive shall not apply to loans to eligible members of the defense establishment that meet certain fitness conditions as detailed in the Section. Effective Date
  4. The amendments to the Directive shall apply from the date of publication of this Circular.
