The Monetary Authority of Singapore issues Notice 1001 to define capital funds and head office capital funds for all merchant banks. This regulation establishes the minimum paid-up capital and minimum capital funds requirements applicable to locally incorporated merchant banks and their branches. It supersedes previous notices and specifically addresses requirements for banks and merchant banks operating an Asian Currency Unit.
