The Bangladesh Bank re-fixes the lower bound of the Interest Rate Corridor for the interbank money market by reducing the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) rate from 8.00% to 7.50%. The upper bounds remain unchanged, with the Standing Lending Facility (SLF) rate at 11.50% and the Overnight Rate at 10.00%. Reference is made to Appendix ‘B’ of MPD Circular No. 02 dated 15 January 2025 regarding the re-fixation of the lower bound of the Interest Rate Corridor (IRC) for the interbank money market.
The Bangladesh Bank, as the Monetary Policy Committee, has decided to reduce the lower bound of the interbank money market by 50 basis points to increase interbank liquidity.
Accordingly, in accordance with Monetary Policy Circular No. 11, the lower bound of the Interest Rate Corridor for the interbank money market (Call Money Market) is re-fixed by reducing the Standing Deposit Facility (SDF) rate from 8.00% to 7.50%. Furthermore, the upper bound of the Interest Rate Corridor remains unchanged, with the Standing Lending Facility (SLF) rate at 11.50% and the Overnight Rate at 10.00%.
This will be effective from February 15, 2026.
