MPD Circular No. 1: Refixation of Repo and Reverse Repo Rate of Bangladesh Bank

Bangladesh Bank re-fixes its Repo interest rate at 4.5 percent and reverse Repo interest rate at 2.5 percent to address higher liquidity in the inter-bank money market. These revised rates apply to all scheduled banks and financial institutions in Bangladesh starting from October 12, 2009, until further instruction. The circular specifies that this adjustment does not indicate any change in the current monetary policy stance.

These rates shall come into force from October 12, 2009 until further instruction; this re-fixation does not indicate any change of current monetary policy stance.
