The new function is intended to clarify the distribution of responsibilities, strengthen cooperation between public and private actors, and improve opportunities for information sharing.
The function includes the Riksbank, Finansinspektionen, and Riksgälden, as well as certain private actors, such as banks and other companies within the financial sector. The Riksbank is responsible for leading the function.
"Crises in the financial system often require both public and private actors to act together. The new function strengthens cooperation and creates better conditions for coordinated action when needed," says Erik Thedéen, Governor of the Riksbank.
