Subject 18: 1,000 Peso Metal Coin The Department of Issuance and Programming issues the following circular, which constitutes Subject 18 "1,000 Peso Metal Coin". This circular replaces the Operational and Services External Circular DTE-186 Subject 36: "1,000 METAL COIN", dated May 3, 2024. The foregoing is due to the change of area in charge of this regulation. Additionally, it is informed that, starting from August 10, 2026, 1,000 peso coins with a 2025 minting year will be put into circulation. MINTING 1996 Starting from November 13, 1996, the Bank of the Republic put into circulation 1,000 peso coins minted by the Coin Factory, in accordance with External Resolution No. 16 of 1996 of the Board of Directors of the Bank, with the following characteristics:

1. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS ALLOY DIAMETER WEIGHT THICKNESS REBORD HEIGHT Copper 92% Aluminum 6% Nickel 2% 21.67 mm. 7.30 grams 2.40 mm. 2.76 mm. The edge of this coin is circular and on the edge or side it presents grooves, on which the phrases "CULTURA SINU" and "MIL PESOS" are engraved, separated by three representative elements of the aforementioned culture.

2. OBVERSE On the obverse, the representation of a Sinú goldsmith piece is appreciated in the lower half, elaborated with fine and defined lines where three sectors are distinguished. The first or inner and the last or outer have similar figures and are separated by the other sector, which is composed of nine double circles of equal size. The upper half of the surface is completely smooth.

3. REVERSE The face value in Arabic numerals "1000" is presented in the center of the surface and below it, the word "PESOS". All on a circle with a checkered background made with fine lines. Around, two cord sections appear, separated, both in the upper part, as in the lower part. Surrounding these, the legend "REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA 1996" appears, which is limited with a filigree constituted by points arranged in a circular shape.

4. DISTRIBUTION The Bank of the Republic delivered this coin to the public and to banking establishments packaged in cartridges and blue boxes, as follows:

MINTING 2012 – NEW FAMILY On June 13, 2012, the Bank of the Republic put into circulation a new 1,000 peso coin, which is part of a new family of coins, whose characteristics were established through External Resolution No. 04 of 2012 of the Board of Directors. The thematic orientation of the new coins confirms the interest of the Bank of the Republic in the promotion and preservation of our natural resources and sustainable development.

1. GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS These new monetary signs are bimetallic, have a circular contour, a grooved edge with homogeneous depth, width, and smoothness and continuous striation on both sides of the edge. They present the following general characteristics:

2. OBVERSE It has a circular frame in high relief defined with a flat and smooth surface, followed by an external filigree or succession of points located in the crown and another internal filigree located in the core. Between the two filigrees there are lines in different reliefs, in the shape of waves, whose displacement covers the crown and part of the core. Towards the center, the word "AGUA" follows in high relief, repeated seven times consecutively and inverted each one with respect to the previous one, after which other wavy lines follow. Located in the left zone and towards the center of the coin appears a multi-level image of the Caguama Turtle, a migratory marine species which uses

In the lower part of the coin is the text with the common name and in microtext the scientific name of the turtle. In the center of the coin, in a circular shape and to the left between the external filigree and the turtle's fins, there are smooth, flat, and shiny zones.

3. REVERSE It has a circular frame and in a stepped shape a second frame with a nine-sided polygonal figure in high relief defined, with a flat and smooth surface, in its upper part the legend "REPUBLICA DE COLOMBIA" and in the lower part the year of issue; in the lower semicircle of the crown it presents a filigree or succession of points. In the upper semicircle of the coin's core, the number "1,000" is seen and below "PESOS", downwards, continuous wavy lines that simulate water waves and in the background some very fine parallel lines; in the center of the coin a latent image was incorporated that depending on the angle of observation reflects the initials "BRC" or "MIL" and a microtext with the legend "CUIDAR EL AGUA" repeated consecutively and with inverted orientation each one with respect to the previous one and, parallel to this text, inside the core, there is an internal filigree.

4. DISTRIBUTION The Bank of the Republic delivers these coins to the public and to banking establishments packaged in heat-sealed plastic bags or bags with a muzzle-type tie, marked with vertical bars of blue and white colors.

MINTING 2013 On March 4, 2013, 1,000 peso coins produced by the Coin Factory with a 2013 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2012-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2014 On January 27, 2014, 1,000 peso coins produced by the Coin Factory with a 2014 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2013-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2015 On January 15, 2015, 1,000 peso coins produced by the Coin Factory with a 2015 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2014-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2016 On June 1, 2016, 1,000 peso coins with a 2016 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2015-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2017 On May 10, 2017, 1,000 peso coins with a 2017 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2016-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2018 On November 13, 2018, 1,000 peso coins with a 2018 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2017-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2019 On November 8, 2019, 1,000 peso coins with a 2019 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2018-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2020 On December 11, 2020, 1,000 peso coins with a 2020 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2019-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2022 On June 6, 2022, 1,000 peso coins with a 2022 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2021-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2023 On January 23, 2023, 1,000 peso coins with a 2023 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2022-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2024 On May 7, 2024, 1,000 peso coins with a 2024 minting year were put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2023-Nueva Familia minting year.

MINTING 2025 On August 10, 2026, 1,000 peso coins with a 2025 minting year will be put into circulation. These monetary signs have the same design and identical general characteristics as those identified with the 2024-Nueva Familia minting year.
