Periodic Letter 118 - 2017
The Central Bank of Libya exempts pharmaceutical and medical minerals importers from the cash deposit requirement when covering permanent letters of credit, allowing coverage via certified checks and RTGS transfers instead. This exemption applies only to companies holding valid contracts with the Ministry of Health and the Medical Supply Authority. Banks are instructed to ensure compliance with these specific conditions and to exercise the required care in applying these instructions.
