PSD Circular Letter No. 05: Regarding BACH and RTGS Transaction Schedule on 14, 15 and 16 June 2024 Preceding Eid-ul-Adha
The Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank specifies the operating hours for Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) transactions on June 14, 15, and 16, 2024, due to weekly and government holidays preceding Eid-ul-Adha. BACH High Value Clearing presentment and return cut-off times are set at 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM respectively, while Regular Value Clearing cut-offs are 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM. RTGS customer transactions (Pacs.008) operate from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM, customs duty e-payments from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM, and interbank fund transfers (Pacs.009) and returns (Pacs.004) from 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM. Additionally, banks are prohibited from presenting checks to bank branches located outside the areas mentioned in DOS Circular Letter No. 16 dated June 9, 2024.

Dear Sir,
Regarding the operation of BACH and RTGS on the weekly and government holiday dates 14, 15, and 16 June 2024 preceding Eid-ul-Adha.
In accordance with the DOS Circular Letter No. 16 dated 9 June 2024 of the Department of Offsite Supervision, the operations of Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH) and Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) on the weekly and government holiday dates of 14, 15, and 16 June 2024 will be conducted according to the following schedule:
- Transactions of Bangladesh Automated Clearing House (BACH):
a) BACPS High Value Clearing - Presentment Cut off Time - 12:00 PM,
- Return cut off Time - 2:30 PM Regular Value Clearing - Presentment Cut off Time - 12:30 PM,
- Return cut off Time - 4:00 PM
b) On the aforementioned dates, the three sessions of BEFTN will remain open according to the previous schedule.
- Transactions of Real Time Gross Settlement (RTGS):
a) Customer Transactions (Pacs.008) - 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM b) Customs Duty E-Payment (Pacs.008 with TTC 41) - 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM c) Interbank Fund Transfer (Pacs.009) and Return (Pacs.004) - 10:00 AM to 4:45 PM
In the interest of smooth operation of the clearing system, checks shall not be presented to any bank branch located outside the area mentioned in DOS Circular Letter No. 16 dated 09 June 2024 of the Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS).
