PSD Circular Letter No. 07: Continuation of Uninterrupted Banking and Payment Services in Response to COVID-19

The Payment Systems Department of Bangladesh Bank extends the operating hours for specific payment platforms to ensure uninterrupted banking and payment services during the COVID-19 pandemic. For Interbank Mobile Financial Service (IMFS) transactions, the operating hours are extended to 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM for the first session, and 12:30 PM and 4:00 PM for the second session. Additionally, the operating hours for Joint Electronic Clearing House (JECH) transactions are set from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. These timeframes remain in effect until further notice.

Dear Sir,

Regarding the continuation of uninterrupted banking and payment services in the context of the situation arising from COVID-19.

In continuation of the DOS Circular Letter No. 25 dated 16-06-2021 issued by the Department of Offsite Supervision (DOS) and the PSD Circular Letter No. 06/2021 dated 30-05-2021 of this department, the operating hours for payment platforms to provide special banking services on a daily basis are determined as follows:

(1) Transactions through Interbank Mobile Financial Service (IMFS): a) Operating hours for IMFS transactions: First Session: 12:00 PM Second Session: 2:30 PM First Session: 12:30 PM Second Session: 4:00 PM b) The two sessions of IMFS on appropriate days will remain open according to the previously announced schedule.

(2) Transactions through Joint Electronic Clearing House (JECH): From 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

This timeframe will remain in effect until further instructions are issued.
