In the context of continuing payment services in the greater Sylhet area and other flood-affected areas of the country.

Recently, heavy rainfall and rising water levels in rivers have caused sudden and severe floods in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts of Bangladesh, as well as in Moulvibazar, Habiganj, Kishoreganj, Netrokona, and various places in the northern region including Rangpur and Kurigram. Due to these floods and continuous rainfall, new areas are getting submerged daily, with the possibility of spreading across the entire country. Bank branches, ATM booths, agent banking outlets, and MFS agent points in the flood-affected areas are submerged in water, making it impossible for the general public to conduct essential financial transactions. During this emergency period, to ensure the supply of cash to the general public and to continue payment services through alternative means by ensuring safety in flood-affected locations, instructions are hereby issued to all scheduled banks, mobile financial service providers, and payment service provider institutions to take operational arrangements.

These instructions will take effect immediately.
