Public Notice – FIM Act Formal Consultation

The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) has gazetted subordinate legislation implementing the Financial Institutions and Markets Act, No. 2 of 2021, and requires affected stakeholders to submit formal feedback on the new rules. Comments must be completed using the enclosed template and emailed to designated addresses by 11 July 2025. This consultation period allows industry participants to directly shape the regulatory framework before its full implementation.

10 JUNE 2025 FORMAL CONSULTATION ON SUBORDINATE LEGISLATION OF THE FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS AND MARKETS ACT (FIMA) The Namibia Financial Institutions Supervisory Authority (NAMFISA) herewith informs the public impacted by the implementation of the Financial Institutions and Markets Act, No. 2 of 2021, of the following.

  1. NAMFISA has uploaded the recently gazetted Subordinate Legislation (Government Gazette #8659 – GENERAL NOTICE NO. 334 dated 09 June 2025), on the NAMFISA website, accessible via the link below: ➢ Link: https://www.namfisa.com.na/regulatory-frameworks/
  2. The public is encouraged to review and provide comments on the subordinate legislation.
  3. Kindly submit your comments in the format of the enclosed “Comments Template”, on or before 11 July 2025 to Ms. Anesia Cloete at acloete@namfisa.com.na and copy projectnewdawn@namfisa.com.na.
