Public Notice No. 1 of 2025 – Joint Authorised Agent Training

The Securities Commission of The Bahamas and the Compliance Commission mandate annual training for eligible persons to be approved as agents for examining financial and corporate service providers. The virtual training session is scheduled for 26 February 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with registration open to Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants licensees until 21 February 2025. Applications to act as an authorised agent must be submitted by 28 February 2025.

PUBLIC NOTICE No. 1 of 2025 5 February 2025 Re: Joint Authorised Agent Training This NOTICE is issued by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Securities Commission), in its capacity as administering authority of the Financial and Corporate Service Providers Act, 2020 (FCSPA), and the Compliance Commission of The Bahamas (the Compliance Commission) as the Anti-Money Laundering Supervisory Authority for Designated Financial Institutions. The Securities Commission, pursuant to its authority under Section 31 of the FCSPA, and the Compliance Commission, pursuant to its authority under Section 32(b) of the Financial Transactions Reporting Act, 2018, will conduct annual mandatory training for eligible persons to be approved as agents in conducting annual routine examinations of financial and corporate service providers (FCSPs) and registrants of the Compliance Commission. The training will be conducted: Wednesday 26 February 2025 Via Virtual Conference 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Any eligible candidate (Bahamas Institute of Chartered Accountants licensees)interested in registering for the training may register via email to Ms. Tina Wright at: fcsp@scb.gov.bs or at (242) 397-5950, no later than Friday 21 February 2025. For persons who complete the training, the deadline for applications to act as an authorised agent is Friday 28 February 2025.
