The Securities Commission of The Bahamas warns the public that the websites scb-gov.com and scb-bahamas.com are fraudulent replicas of its official site, which is located at https://www.scb.gov.bs. The notice advises users to exercise extreme caution to avoid malware, personal data theft, and financial loss, noting that the Commission never engages in two-way communication or requests payments via its website. Individuals who have interacted with the fraudulent sites are instructed to check their computers for malware and contact the Enforcement Department if they were petitioned for money.
SECURITIES COMMISSION OF THE BAHAMAS PUBLIC NOTICE No. 2 of 2026 19 February 2026 Amended: 24 February 2026 RE: FAKE SECURITIES COMMISSION OF THE BAHAMAS WEBSITE (No. 2) This NOTICE is issued by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) pursuant to its authority under the Securities Industry Act 2024, the Investment Funds Act 2019, the Financial and Corporate Service Providers Act 2020, and the Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges Act 2024 (the Acts). It has come to the attention of the Commission that a person or persons unknown have created and are currently operating two websites: https://scb-gov.com and scb-bahamas.com which are fraudulent representations of the official website of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas. The correct official website of the Securities Commission of The Bahamas is located at: https://www.scb.gov.bs Commission staff have viewed the fraudulent websites and note that these fictitious websites have copied significant amounts of information from the Commission’s website. Therefore, the public is hereby warned to exercise extreme caution when attempting to access the Commission’s website to ensure that they are indeed accessing the correct website. The public is herein reminded of the dangers involved with accessing fictitious websites. Some of these dangers include, but are not limited to: a) exposing your computer to spyware/malware. b) risk of having your personal information accessed by an unknown third parties. c) risk of personal financial loss. The Commission assures the public that its official website is for information purposes only, and it will never seek two-way communication via its website with any person, including: a) requesting payment for any service of the Commission; b) providing detailed instructions for, or requesting payment of, fees; or
2 c) advising any person, new or existing, on regulatory matters (apart from the Commission’s regulatory listings). Any attempts at two-way communication, via websites as listed above, are clear red flags that one is dealing with a fraudulent online entity. If any member of the public has interacted with this fraudulent website, you are advised to have your computer checked for malware as soon as practicable. If you have interacted with this fictitious website and was petitioned for monies, please contact the Enforcement Department of the Commission at enfdept@scb.gov.bs .
