SECURITIES COMMISSION OF THE BAHAMAS PUBLIC NOTICE No. 6 of 2024 15 May 2024 RE: My Investment Market This NOTICE is issued by the Securities Commission of The Bahamas (the Commission) pursuant to its authority under the Securities Industry Act, 2011, the Investment Funds Act, 2019, the Financial and Corporate Service Providers Act, 2020, and the Digital Assets and Registered Exchanges Act, 2020 (the Acts). It has come to the attention of the Commission that an entity named My Investment Market, may be conducting activities that are registrable under one or more of the Acts. My Investment Market is said to be an online trading platform owned by a company named My Investment Market Ltd., purportedly located at 48 Warwick Street, London, England, W1B 5AW, United Kingdom. The Commission hereby advises the public that neither My Investment Market, nor its agents and/or its consultants, are registrants of the Commission and they have not made application for registration with the Commission. Therefore, any conduct of registrable activity by this organization, its agents or consultants in or from this jurisdiction is a violation of one or more of the Acts. If this organization, its agents or consultantsin any way hold themselves out as fully compliant and bona fide operating securities, or financial services business in or from this jurisdiction, they are committing an offence and are liable for criminal prosecution and/or regulatory sanctions under the relevant laws of The Bahamas. BACKGROUND Through its website, https://www.myinvestmentmarket.com/lander/ My Investment Market holds itself to be an online cryptocurrency trading and investment platform. The platform offers several investment plans that allow users to earn a percentage of their investment back in a short period of time. My Investment Market purports to be good for persons who are new to trading by providing an automatic trade feature. The site may also appear to be attractive to novice traders and other citizens of The Bahamas, because it has a ‘Refer-A-Friend’ offering under which participants are incentivized to invite new members to join through a unique referral link. 2 The Commission hereby advises that anyone desirous of conducting securities or financial services business with this organization, its agents or consultants, should be cognizant that they are doing so with an entity and or individuals that are not registered with the Commission to operate within or from The Bahamas. Therefore, the Commission urges the public to exercise extraordinary precautionary measures before engaging in any business activities with this entity. If, subsequent to this Public Notice, it is discovered that any member of the public (whether personally or through others) persists in promoting and/or operating this activity, then the person (and others, if applicable) may be liable to prosecution under relevant provisions of one or more the Acts.
