Publication of Applications for Issuers of Asset-Referenced Token

The MFSA has launched a new application form for persons seeking authorization under Article 18 of the MiCA Regulation to offer asset-referenced tokens to the public or admit them to trading from Malta. This requirement applies to prospective applicants as the MiCA Regulation becomes applicable to issuers of asset-referenced tokens as of 30 June 2024. Applicants are directed to consult the MFSA’s Authorisations Process Service Charter for details on the application stages and authority expectations.

The Authority would like to inform all market participants that it has launched a new application form applicable to persons and who wish to offer asset-referenced tokens to the public or admit asset-referenced tokens to trading from Malta and who are seeking authorisation in terms of Article 18 of the MiCA Regulation. Prospective Applicants are requested to refer to the MFSA’s Authorisations Process Service Charter which outlines the various stages of the application process and the Authority’s expectations in this respect.
